2011 PROJECT DURATION

2011, Jan 15th -25th OPTIONAL

*Fund raising beach shows Ko Phan Gan and Samui*

This period of time a volunteer group will be performing at hotels and beach resorts to raise money for the projects. The fund raising shows on the beaches are optional participation for the SPARK! Team (and a whole lot of fun!) and will also include many performers and locals who will just join in for this part of the project.

2011, Jan 25th- Feb 1st REQUIRED

*Prep and shows in Bangkok and Chiang Mai*

During this time the team will be purchasing and packing a variety of costumes, art supplies,face paints, tools and toys used in our performances and our donation kits that are left at each school, refugee camp clinic or orphanage.  The performers will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation while in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, but still doing  team group activities,meetings and choreograph practices at scheduled times (TBA).

2011, Feb 2nd-20th

*Playshops in Mae Sot and refugee camps*

During this time the team will be working with the children of Mae Sot and surrounding region, teaching and performing for free in refugee camps, migrant schools, orphanages, and hospital clinics, and for the local community. The daily routine is described under the “what a typical day looks like section”, but can and usually will change on a moments notice!

We will be staying as a group at Ban Thai guesthouse for the duration of this time. All accommodation for this period will be paid by the performers  in advance, due  by Oct. 15th. The amount for each performer is $250 USD. This includes all the space and amenities we need for the circus group. Accommodation will be dorm style  with two-six people in a room and shared bathrooms. There is a kitchen, free wireless, and is very comfortable walking distance to everything in town!

PLEASE NOTE: ALL team members will be expected to participate from Jan 25th until Feb 20th. It is important that we work together as a team during this time. If you sign on as a Spark team member, you will need to be willing, able, excited and fully committed for the duration of the “required” dates of the project! It is essential that your team can count on you to be reliable.
